Prefab pools in Parga and Preveza
Parga rises like an amphitheater below its Venetian castle, and around it, from Lichnos to Ammoudia and the inland villages, there are holiday homes and rentals with views over the Ionian.
Further south, Preveza lies between the Ionian and the Ambracian Gulf, with long sandy beaches such as Monolithi and lagoons around the town.
What we watch for in Parga and Preveza
- High water table near the lagoons: on low-lying plots near the Ambracian Gulf, groundwater is close to the surface. The pool is never emptied, because its water balances the pressure from below.
- Wetlands and mosquitoes: standing water breeds mosquitoes. Circulation and chlorine keep the water fresh while you are away, and in winter rainwater is cleared off the cover.
- Ionia Odos and the undersea tunnel: materials arrive by road from Athens, and the Aktio–Preveza tunnel links the area with the opposite shore and Lefkada.

Questions
Can I empty the pool in winter?
No. A liner pool is never fully emptied, and on plots with a high water table, such as near the Preveza lagoons, the pool water holds the liner in place. In winter only the water level is lowered, below the return inlets.
