What the cost of a prefab pool depends on

The six factors

1. Size

More square metres mean more panels, more liner, more excavation and more water. Below 50 m² you also skip the building permit process, with a small-scale works approval. See the size chart.

2. Depth

1.10 m panels need less excavation and less water than 1.50 m panels.

3. Skimmer or overflow

A skimmer pool needs no channel and no balance tank, which is why it is the lower-cost option.

4. Lining

A single-colour liner is the simplest choice. Textured membranes, such as SOPREMAPOOL 3D, add the look of natural materials. See pool lining.

5. Equipment

Pump, filter, lighting and plant room, compact or conventional, are chosen to suit the pool. See pool equipment.

6. Access and ground

Rock, a slope, narrow access or shipping to an island all affect how the construction is organized.

How to keep the cost down

• Choose a skimmer instead of an overflow.
• Keep the water surface under 50 m², so a small-scale works approval is enough.
• Go for 1.10 m panels if the pool is mainly for cooling off and play.
• Choose a compact plant room instead of a separate room.
• Place the pool close to the house's water and power supply.
• Fit a cover, for less evaporation, fewer chemicals and less cleaning every year.
