Your choices in a prefab pool

1. Panels: steel or polyester

The pool walls are formed from ready-made panels. The most common are galvanized steel, 2 mm thick. Polyester panels are also available. See how they are installed on our prefab pools page.

2. Depth: 1.10 or 1.50 m panels

The height of the panels sets the depth. 1.10 m panels give shallower water, less excavation and water that warms up faster. 1.50 m panels give you the depth for comfortable swimming. Neither is suitable for head-first diving: see pool depth. Check the size chart.

3. Circulation: skimmer or overflow

4. Position: in-ground or raised

A prefab pool can sit fully in the ground or rise up to 1 m above natural ground level, as the small-scale works approval allows. A raised pool helps on rocky or sloping plots, where deep excavation is difficult.

5. Finish: liner or textured membrane

A PVC liner makes the pool fully watertight, in any colour. SOPREMAPOOL membranes add a non-slip texture and the look of natural materials. See pool lining.
