Prefab pools in Kefalonia
Kefalonia combines mountains, olive groves and some of the best-known beaches in the Ionian. In Argostoli, Lassi, Skala and Fiskardo, more and more homes are adding a pool.
Since the 1953 earthquake, earthquake resistance has been part of every building project on the island, and a pool is no exception.
What we watch for on Kefalonia
- Lightweight structure: a prefab pool adds no heavy walls to the plot, and the flexible liner does not crack.
- Ferry from Kyllini: materials arrive at Poros or Argostoli, depending on where the project is.
- Rocky slopes: on plots with views and bedrock, the pool can rise up to 1 m above ground level, so there is less excavation.
