The pines give shade and cool air, but they drop needles and resin, which end up in the pool unless it is positioned correctly.
What we watch for in Nea Makri and Marathon
- Pine needles: we recommend a pump with a pre-filter and a cover, so the needles do not clog the filter.
- Groundwater on the plain: near the Marathon plain and the sea, the water table can be high. We assess the excavation before construction, especially for 1.50 m panels.
- Paving around the pool: paving or a timber deck keeps soil and needles away from the water.

Will the pine trees around the house make the pool dirty?
They will drop needles, especially when it is windy. With a cover, a pre-filter on the pump and well-placed skimmers, cleaning stays simple.
