Prefab pools in Lavrio and Sounio
Lavreotiki, from Thymari and Lavrio to Sounio and Legrena, is full of holiday homes with views of the Aegean and the Saronic Gulf. Many sit on slopes with low vegetation and lots of sun.
The area has centuries of mining history behind it, from the ancient silver mines to 20th-century industry, and it still shows in the ground.
What we watch for in Lavrio and Sounio
- Mining ground: in some places there are old tunnels, fill and slag from ore processing. We check the ground at the site survey, and if there is any doubt the engineer considers whether a geotechnical investigation is needed.
- Sounio National Park: much of the area around the cape is protected. For plots near the park, the engineer checks what is allowed before design.
- From Lavrio to Kea: ferries for Kea and Kythnos leave from the port of Lavrio, so we also take on projects on these nearby islands.

2 mm galvanized steel panels, 1.10 or 1.50 m high, hot-dip galvanized support buttresses and a PVC liner with a 10-year written warranty. Available as a skimmer or overflow pool, and up to 50 m² with a small-scale works approval instead of a building permit. See the sizes.

Does Lavrio's mining history affect building a pool?
On most plots, no. Where there is old fill or tunnels, the ground is checked before excavation, and with 1.10 m panels the excavation stays shallow.
